Them Dinners with Nick

The Goal: Each week an invite to all my local friends. First 5 to RSVP get a home-cooked meal.

Lately I’ve been a bit concerned about the appearance of a few patterns:

  1. Increasingly time-consuming and challenging menus (post on that coming),
  2. The slipping away of weekly Them Dinners because of the above point, and
  3. Having to tell friends no because the table is full and I want to keep these sustainable, even though I really want to see those friends.

Obviously I need to take a second, chill out, and remember why I started this whole Them Dinners concept in the first place. It’s times like this that I turn to my friend pizza.

Last night I sent out the Evite invitation to 43 local pals for a Friday night Them Dinners Pizza Pig-out (effectively also saying “NO” to drugs). The first Pizza Pig-out, after St. Paddy’s Day, was a great time and allowed me to open up the guest list a bit more because of the ease of making and serving. 12 friends can accept the invite for this one instead of the usual 5.

But why should I stop there with my utter disregard for effort? I want to crowdsource 5 pie ideas for next Friday’s menu. I’m going to pick the top five most appealing, creative suggestions, so pitch me an idea. You can comment here, email me, Tweet @Themdinners—whatever works.

The creators of the top five pie ideas will win my undying love, affection, and publicity, should you want it.

And that should be plenty, you naughty little materialist.
